Responsibilities:
- Setting rigorous yet appropriate learning outcomes
- Establish supportive relationships with students
- Engage students in meaningful, developmentally appropriate, real world discussions and learning activities
- Develop authentic and aligned assessments to measure student growth to inform instructional decisions, especially pertaining to students with special needs
- Develop plans (IEPs, behavior plans, service plans etc… ) that are data-based and support the growth and development of students
- Collaboratively work with the team to fulfill the mission, vision and beliefs of both the school and the District
Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree
- Louisiana teaching certificate with certification in mild moderate at either the elementary 1-5 or 1-12 levels
- Type A, B or C – or – Level 1, 2 or 3
- Experience in creating and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans
- Knowledge in the area of instructional methodologies for students with disabilities and Bulletins 1706 / 1508
- Previous experience in assuming leadership roles at the school and district level PREFERRED
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
