Job Summary:
The Customs Entry Writer is a dynamic part of the shipment process from the beginning of each shipment through each shipment’s arrival at the port of discharge. This position requires attention to detail, excellent customer service, and strong collaborative skills.

Responsibilities:
- Gathering, preparation and submittal of shipment data to Customs & Border Protection
- Updating, tracking and tracing of international shipments
- Soliciting shipment-critical documentation from clients, steamship lines, freight forwarders, etc.
- Receiving and processing new inbound shipping documents
- Drafting and filing of customs entries
- Resolution of issues which prevent timely release of cargo
- Payment of operational charges related to cargo release and availability
- Monitoring group email inboxes and replying to inquiries
- Dissemination of updated information about shipment statuses internally and externally
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Ease with communication and relationship-building; effective phone skills
- Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency for some aspects of the job are a definite plus but not required
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment
- To aspire to become a member of a great team and participate in the process of developing and growing our company culture
- No industry experience necessary
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Must be vaccinated, or willing to become vaccinated against, COVID-19
