Job Description: Manager, Business Development
TEI Software Development, Inc. requires new leadership for business development, marketing strategies, and client retention using skills acquired through experience and LSU’s College of Business graduate curriculum. TEI’s long-time competence working closely with client management gives us the standing to lead the development and growth of the IT component of profitable businesses and important governmental organizations.
Developing new relationships with potential clients and maintaining existing relationships with current key customers will be imperative in the near term. Still, the right person for this position must create an organizational business development/marketing framework to guide TEI’s future. Creating the right strategy will require working closely with TEI’s current management, including the president and CEO, our COO, the current vice president responsible for ongoing project management, the software development manager, developers, and other staff. Effectively managing this position will enrich TEI’s business growth by applying skills and knowledge acquired through the LSU College of Business curricula and the individual’s work experiences.
The successful candidate will be:
- Responsible to: President and CEO
- External relationships: Current and New Clients
- Internal relationships: Senior Management
- Salary: Base plus commission
- Hours: TEI currently works a hybrid schedule (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in our office; Tuesday and Thursday work from either home or office)
- Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead the development and execution of TEI’s vision and strategy
- Cooperate with members of management on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans
- Develop, review, and report on business development strategy, ensuring that strategic objectives are well understood and executed.
Management of the Overall Business Development Function Including:
- Affect the profitability of the company by ensuring strategic and tactical management decisions and new business development results
- Marketing
- Competitor and market analysis
- Develop and lead business development sourcing, managing, and implementing new business opportunities
- Ensure efficient and effective marketing, advertising, and promotional planning
- Present a budget and prudently manage resources within those budgetary guidelines according to company policy and within ethical corporate governance guidelines
- Contribute to TEI’s culture, values, and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, and partners.
